Your information, explained

This notice explains the information used to deliver Newly Ordinary, respond to messages, and operate this website.

Updated September 15, 2026

When you subscribe

Your email address is sent through our website to Beehiiv, which manages subscriptions and sends editions. Subscription status and delivery information help us maintain the list.

If a link includes campaign tags, the website keeps them in your browser’s session storage and includes them with your signup. We also pass the referring website when available. This helps us understand how readers find Newly Ordinary.

When you contact us

We use the name, email address, subject, and message you provide to respond. A sponsorship inquiry can also include your company, website, campaign plans, and any budget or timing you choose to share.

Sending an inquiry does not add you to the newsletter. Please provide only the information needed for your request and leave out passwords, payment details, and sensitive personal information.

When inquiry forms are enabled, Resend delivers the message to our inbox and Cloudflare Turnstile checks the submission for automated abuse. The website does not keep a separate database of inquiries.

Website and email activity

Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes technical information needed to serve and protect the website, such as request and device information. Fonts and the brand’s own artwork are hosted with the site.

Email services can record delivery, open, and click activity. These measurements can be affected by privacy features in email apps. Archived editions may include images or links served by other providers, whose own data practices apply when those resources load or you follow a link.

Why information is used

Information is used to deliver editions you request, answer inquiries, consider partnerships, understand readership, prevent abuse, and meet applicable obligations. Where consent is the basis for sending editions, you can withdraw it through the email preference controls.

Information may be processed by service providers in countries other than your own. Their roles and privacy information are linked below.

Keeping and removing information

Subscription records are kept to manage your requested editions and preferences. Messages are kept for the conversation, any resulting business relationship, and applicable recordkeeping needs. Service providers may retain records under their own policies.

You can ask about access, correction, or deletion through our contact page. Some information may need to be retained for legal obligations, security, or to respect a request not to receive email. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights or a right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Your choices

Use the preference or unsubscribe controls in an edition to manage email delivery. You can also clear browser storage, limit remote images in your email app, and contact us about how your information is handled.

This notice will be updated when relevant practices change. The date above identifies the latest revision.
